Ike & Hanna Hurricane Relief

Centre Medical Passe Catabois, Haiti

After hurricanes Hanna and Ike blew through Haiti, so much devastation was left behind. People were left without homes, water, food, and possessions. Many more lost pets, family, and friends. PACÉ held an emergency meeting to determine how we could help in the midst of such horrible loss. With what funds we had, we decided to contribute $2,000 to the Centre Medical Passe Catabois, a hospital hit by the hurricanes and full of long term patients with TB, malnutrition, and HIV. In addition to our contribution, we raised an additional $200 through the donations of group members.

The PACÉ team raised an additional $370 at the tail gate fund raiser on Saturday, Sept. 13th.

It is planned that our contributions will help to rebuild homes for the people who suffered with the hurricane or provide water to those in need. Updates will be posted as news comes from Haiti on how we could help.

Project Goal: $2,000 USD
Total Raised: $2,570 USD

The Gracie Rock Village School Building Project

Gracie Rock, Belize, C.A.

Gracie Rock is a small, rural village in central Belize. The local school provides educational resources for around 40 primary school children. Currently, the 2-room school building is located in an open yard where cattle, goats and other village animals are able to roam freely. The animals leave behind significant amounts of waste and destroy play areas, creating incredibly unsanitary conditions for the children and leaving little room for them to play.

PACÉ's goal is to raise adequate funds to construct a playground with a fence that will keep animals out and provide a safe, sanitary space for the children to play and explore.

We believe that the ultimate sustainability of our projects rests on the local communities' investment and education. Part of PACÉ 's mission includes the use of local materials and labor, which not only contributes to the local economy, but creates a personal investment on the part of the community members and increases their awareness of public health and hygiene issues.

Project Goal: $3,000 USD
