Bike to Uganda fundraiser

In the University Mall, Blacksburg

WHO:

Students, Faculty, Staff, and Blacksburg Community!
Weight Club membership is NOT required.

WHY:

On April 10th, Virginia Tech and the Blacksburg community will attempt to bike 7,468 miles from Blacksburg, VA to Kampala, Uganda for the second time. For those of you who participated, last year's event was a huge success! All this to raise awareness and help build a school to provide hundreds of children in Uganda with their first chance at an education ever!

Register for 1 hour or bike all 4! Fundraising minimum for one hour is $25 and $10 for each additional hour. With your registration you will recieve a free t-shirt, be entered in a raffle to win great prizes from our sponsors, and get free food provided by Bull and Bones at a bikers after party. Top fundraiser wins a brand new bike from East Coasters!

EVENTS:

Bull and Bones will donate a percentage of their food sales on Monday, April 5th.
Attitudes Bar will donate a percentage of their cover charge on Thursday, April 8th.

Our responsibility is not to do everything, but to simply do something. Change does not happen overnight, but if we all take the time to do what we can - big or small - change WILL happen. All donations will go to the Virginia Tech Chapter of Building Tomorrow to support Bike to Uganda. We encourage groups to form teams and set a goal!

  • $6,000 - 1 Building Tomorrow classroom
  • $900 - classroom set of desks
  • $250 - 2 soccer goals for a school field
  • $125 - 1 chalkboard

  • $50 - buys a classroom set of geometry kits
